The ToloGo app makes parking easier for residents and parking management easier for managers!

A new residential block with parking facilities, named after our classic designers, has risen in Arabianranta, Helsinki. The names, including Birger and Kajta, are natural, since the Arabian factory complex, where these famous artists also worked, is right next door.

The site was one of the first to choose the domestic Tolotech Oy's ToloGo application as its parking access control solution. We asked the first property manager at the site, Sami Vainiopänen of Kiinteistötahkola Oy, how the app was received by the residents and how the property manager himself felt about the new product.

The ToloGo app was chosen for the opening of the parking garage at the Arabianranta site. Why did the app seem like a good idea to host Sami Vainionpää?

The application was very easy to use and the administration site is clear, so the starting philosophy was very positive," Vainionpää comments. The same feeling remains, the system has been completely trouble-free in the direction of the management.

It is not always easy to make the transition and there can be resistance. What kind of reactions did the app launch provoke among residents?

Vainionpää says that he has not heard anything from residents about the door system, which is always a good sign from the management's point of view. Control via phone or smartwatch has been seen as much more practical than calling a phone number.

In the phone number-based system, there have been problems when calling from an unknown number or sometimes from a foreign number - these are all gone now.

The management of the registry ID by the user himself is also a desirable and practical feature of hosting.

ToloGo is an app that the resident downloads from their app store. How has the download been going for residents?

Everything has gone well, but there have been a couple of confirmation calls at the Arabia site regarding registration due to the system sending a confirmation email instead of the SMS that users have been expecting.

In the management interface, we would like to see a few details in the form of instructions or other clarifications. These are improvements that I have discussed with Tolotech and they have been promised to be addressed," Vainionpää clarifies.

Today, there is a lot of publicity about data security and data storage. Have residents been concerned about the secure handling of data about them?

Vaininonpää says that the residents have not raised any security issues with the management.

How important do the hosts themselves perceive issues related to data security and domesticity to be?

For me, data security and domesticity play an important role in the responsibility of the host for the protection of residents' personal data. Of course, domesticity is a definite plus for the convenience of customer service," says Vainionpää.

Roses and thorns at the end😊 It's been going well! Even after the Arabianranta site, the introduction of the sites has gone very smoothly. The sites are often commissioned quite quickly, and when you have added the so-called initial lists as an assembly line job during the first commissioning, it has made the work here at the management end easier," says Vainionpää.

The ToloGo service enables door opening by app, phone call, pin code, rfid tag, remote control and license plate, with only one or all opening methods in parallel.

The root user will receive a customised management interface for the managed object. Businesses will have their own management interface, and hosts will have a management interface that is suitable for managing residents and meets security requirements.
